USCHS | "Yielding the Floor" / Asian Pacific Americans in Congress Series

This series of video interviews will capture the rich and diverse history of Asian Pacific American Congressional leaders of the past and present. These congressional recollections will serve as a public archival record of the distinguished legislative service of Asian Pacific Americans and will be an ongoing resource for students, schools, and the general public to teach youngsters and adults about the contributions of Asian Pacific Americans to the past, present and future of America’s political, cultural and historical heritage. Providing inspiration for the series is a quotation by Daniel Webster that is inscribed above the gallery door on the south wall of the imposing House Chamber:

"Let us develop the resources of our land, call forth its powers, build up its institutions, promote all its great interests and see whether we also in our day may not perform something worthy to be remembered.”
